‘DLR – DAAD Research Fellowships’ is a programme implemented by the ‘Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt’ (DLR) and the ‘German Academic Exchange Service’ (DAAD). This special programme is intended for highly-qualified foreign doctoral and postdoctoral students as well as senior scientists from the fields of Aeronautics, Space, Transportation, and Energy. DLR-DAAD Fellowships offer outstanding scientists and researchers the opportunity to conduct special research at the institutes of the DLR in Germany.
A Fellowship is offered in the Institute of Solar Research (DLR Stuttgart) aligned to the PreFlexMS project. The target of the PhD thesis is to develop a dispatch optimization algorithm for solar thermal power plants that can be used to derive a plant operation schedule for the upcoming 48 h based on weather forecasts, electricity pricing forecast, a plant performance model and feedback obtained from the plant. The special focus of this thesis will be the incorporation of uncertainty information especially for the weather forecast.More info (PDF)
